Every year, I tell myself I’ll plan my 4th of July nails.
This year has been the first time I’ve accepted that I’m a type B girl, a little chaotic, all over the place, but at least I’m creative.
Like us all, I can be a little too optimistic about change.
I can’t help but think that every year that passes, I think I’ll suddenly become more organized, to no one’s surprise, I end up deciding at the absolute last minute, usually while sitting on my bed, scrolling through Pinterest with one eye open and wondering where all the time went.
If you’re the kind of person who loses more than their phone three times in a single week, forgets to reply to texts, don’t overanalyze it. I know it’s harder said than done.
Maybe we’re just built differently, and our disorganization is our actual superpower.
With that being said, we all have hyperfixations; mine is nails.
Maybe I have adhd, denial is a river in Egypt. Enters my mind as I question my entire process of doing stuff.

I’ve genuinely spent an hour debating between two nearly identical shades of red as if it were a life-changing decision.
But that’s okay, I’m just a girl who loves nails.
Like many of you girls, my camera roll is full of screenshots from previous summers that I forgot I saved.
Half of them are blurry Instagram stories, the other half are nail designs I was absolutely convinced I’d recreate myself and never did.
Every June, I rediscover them, and the whole cycle of nail obsession starts again.

4th of July nails have become one of those random little traditions I look forward to, and I’m not even American.
Not because I’m particularly organized or because I have a detailed holiday plan, but because they’re fun.
Like the chaotic energy we exude, these nails are colorful, slightly over the top, and somehow make even the most thrown-together summer outfit feel intentional.
And if you’re anything like me, you’re probably here because you left it until the last minute and now need inspiration fast, so you call it deliver . Lets go
Trinket girl patriotic nails
Trinket girl nails have been a trend for the last year.
If you’re unsure of what they are, trinket girl nails are basically mismatched nails that represent something special to you.
It could be your favorite fruit, pattern, or hobby.
There’s really no end of ideas you can add to trinket nails.
I love these because they’re not in your face. Their subtlety makes them match more.
It is rare to find trinket nails, as they are usually quite chaotic and in your face.

Coastal cowgirl meets Lana del Rey
If you’re a Lana del Rey fan, these nails might be for you. I mean, aren’t they just so darling? The butter yellow is everything; it just makes the design feel so wholesome.
These nails are truly Americana; the cola motif speaks greatly to the American dream and also to capitalism. The nail representing Route 66 is so iconic.
These nails radiate the coastal cowgirl aesthetic on Pinterest. So if you want nails to showcase your love for America, these are the ones.

Americana cowgirl meets Y2K glam.
Since the beginning of this year, we’ve seen a lot of nails representing the cowgirl aesthetic, and I mean, just look how cute they are.
These nails feature long stiletto acrylics with an Americana red, white, and blue mixed-design set featuring gingham, stars, rhinestones, and negative-space accents.
So if you’re looking for nails to showcase your love of the Wild West, these trendy Y2K Americana nails might be the ones for you.

Glazed 4th of July nails
Since the iconic Hailey Bieber started the trend of glazed nails, they have been everywhere, and I mean, we can’t complain, as they somehow make everything look so on-trend and effortless at the same time.
I love the array of different designs in this set, from marble nail tips to the classic star motif.
I mean, these are a winner.

If I were to describe patriotic nails in one picture, these super cute nails would be the ones. There’s some talent that went into this set, as they all contain very intricate, highly skilled designs.
The American flag is Chef’s kiss, not to mention the cute fireworks nail. Needless to say, I’m in love with these nails

Milky nails with chrome stars
This design is super unique and definitely on trend for this summer.
If I were asking a nail tech to create this design, I would describe them as milky white almond nails with red and blue chrome stars scattered across each nail and a super glossy finish.
Overall, they are so aesthetic and would pair perfectly with a denim outfit.

There’s something effortless and cool about having a completely different set of nails on each hand. It screams cool girl.

Picture this: you’re in a rush, walking to a New York hot dog in hand, and your nails are matching your food, isn’t that the dream?
This design is striking yet simple to create.
The hot dog statement nail is complemented by cobalt blue nails and polka dot red nails.

The Fourth of July Cinematic Universe-inspired nails
These nails radiate. I let a county fair decorate my hand, and honestly? I’m not mad.
Ice cream, hot dogs, stars, and pure chaos. It’s giving small-town summer, too much caffeine, and main character energy, very on brand for Lorelai Gilmore in Stars Hollow.

Multicolored French-tipped nails
There’s something so classic about French tips; it gives old money.
Why not do French tip nails, but replace the classic white varnish with blue and red?
You can create this design very easily at home.
All you need is to use masking tape and trace your nails, add this tape near the top, pop your chosen color on, and there you have classy and trendy nails

American flag nails
There’s nothing as patriotic as the American flag, as it represents freedom and opportunity.
This one is a bit hard to achieve at home, so if you’re at the nail salon, you can ask for medium-long coffin nails with an American flag design, white stars on a navy background, red and white striped nails, and slightly raised 3D gel stripes with a super glossy finish.

Firework nails
If you want to showcase your national pride, this nail design is for you.
It looks so impressive, but it’s surprisingly easy to create at home.
To create these nails at home, start by applying a dark navy or midnight-blue polish as your base and let it dry completely.
Using a thin nail art brush or a toothpick dipped in white, light blue, or pink polish, draw tiny lines radiating outward from a central point to mimic exploding fireworks.
Add shorter lines between the longer ones for a fuller effect, then use a dotting tool or the tip of a bobby pin to create small white dots around the nails to resemble stars in the night sky.
Finish with a glossy top coat to seal the design and make the fireworks appear bright and sparkling.

Retro stars nail design
There is something so striking about these nails; perhaps it’s the stars or the chrome nail color.

These nails are a great idea if you want to try your hand at doing your own nails. Not only are they super simple, they scream 4th of July, which is obviously what you want.
They can be done in a few simple steps.
Paint your nails with a base coat, preferably white, so the sparkles pop.
Add a top coat after you add the sparkles, and there you have it, the perfect show-stopping nails.

There’s something so trendy about buttery yellow, and we are all in love with it.
This year, from designs that capture our kitchen, adding buttery yellow to our walls, our tablescapes, the last thing you’ve probably thought of adding butter yellow to is your nails.
Clean girl patriotic nails
The 4th of July nails, the Hailey Bieber nail-inspired nails strike again, and I’m obsessed. There’s something so clean girl-coded about them.
Every nail tells a different story, from polka dots to the American flag. It’s just perfectly describes everything about America, I have to say

Minimalist patriotic nails.
These nails are probably my favorite design for their simplicity. Not only is it impressive to look at, but it’s easily achievable at home.
If you’re a girly on a budget, like me, all you need for these nails, bar the obvious, is a dotting tool to create the stars and dot motifs.
